Construction
One material class. One site. A range of capabilities
For more than 40 years, Mitak HCWI castings have been put to work in various machinery types in the construction industry. The three main categories are impactors used in the aggregate industry; various types of crushers and extruders used in the production of clay bricks and vertical spindle components used in the cement industry.
Crushing
Mitak has developed a family of specialised alloys for crushing applications. The range for heavy duty rock impactors include blowbars, hammers, impact plates and wear plates. Mitak supplies these in large volumes to well-known horizontal shaft impactors such as Hazemag, Stedman, Pegson, K&R, SBM, Hartl, Nordberg, BHS, Cedarapids and Bohringer.
Shoes and anvils, wear plates and distributors form part of a wide range of vertical shaft impactor spares that Mitak produces for agents and OEMs around the world.
Mitak was a pioneer in South Africa in the manufacture of high-chrome concave liners for primary gyratory crushers. Today, most of SA’s major machines use Mitak liners, which offer a wear performance several times that of conventional manganese steel.
Clay
A key aspect of cost-effective production of clay products such as bricks and tiles is the reduction of wear caused by sliding abrasion. Mitak extruder, crusher and grinding components offer the best wear life and optimal casting integrity and have been proven through more than 30 years of service to the clay brick industry.
Augers, mixer knives, refining rolls, and oil bells and rings make up most of the clay handling product mix. Mitak are a dominant supplier of these parts to the local market and for several companies globally.
Mitak can adapt products to a customer’s specific requirements. For instance, augers can be supplied slicked on request, to provide maximum extrusion performance from the outset.
Mitak also regularly make rolls for roller crushers with diameters from 200mm to 1 500mm. These are usually supplied fully machined to extremely tight tolerances.
Cement
Mitak supplies large vertical spindle mill grinding tyres and tracks for use in the cement industry. These components are often over 10 tons in mass and are made to extremely tight tolerances. Mitak’s range of high performance alloys designed for this application has ensured exceptional wear life even under the harshest operating conditions.
